In perspective correction I find it very useful to place the two guide lines against the features that need to be corrected to be parallel, click preview, then set the crop mask, click apply and it is done. I am still discovering some of the features.

One of the real niggles with this package is that the cropping setting keeps resetting itself to automatic with a fixed aspect ratio, which was not what I wanted, so I have to keep returning to the manual setting I require. If the image file contains the necessary information about the camera and its lens, then it can automatically correct for the barrel distortion, but otherwise there is the alternative to do so with manual control, which is quite easy to apply. One thing you have to realise is that when you correct one form of distortion in an image, you inevitably create a different kind of distortion, as people found in trying to map a spherical world onto a flat map. This ViewPoint 2 package can readily handle both, but some of it took a bit of getting used to.
